Hilltown History
|
"This bowl-shaped area in South Westerlo was a natural gathering place for picnics, church outings, ball games, sledding, and swimming in the millpond. From 1949 to 1953, Clearview Speedway held stock-car races on its one-third mile oval dirt track, as well as hosting horse shows, wrestling matches, and fireworks displays. It is now Blaisdell White Memorial Town Park." (from Helderberg Hilltowns by John Elberfeld and Jane McLean)
