Mountain Winds Farm is nestled in the western hills of Berne, NY in the Heldeberg Hilltowns. Formerly the Williamson Family Farm, the Grippin Family has owned this maple and chicken farm since 1961. Today, the farm is operated by second-generation farmer Randy Grippin, his wife Sally, and his three children Christina, Daniel and Laura.
Mountain Winds Farm raises antibiotic- and hormone-free broiler chickens and eggs. Randy’s chickens are free range, and fed food free of preservatives. Sustainability, simplicity, and freshness are values held in high regard on the Mountain Winds Farm.
In addition to chickens, Randy, a Master Forest Owner trained at Cornell University, started his maple syrup operation in 2005 and is growing slowly and sustainably. He works closely with his children, who will one day become the thirdgeneration of family farmers on the Mountain Winds Farm. Mountain winds farm also raises a variety of seasonal vegetables.
Randy joined the FarmieMarket.com in hopes of expanding his customer base so that he can grow his operation, and build a family business that will last into the future.
